Servas Member Guides Us on Making Our Homes Accessible to Those with Disabilities

As Servas hosts, we open our homes to people from all different walks of life. This means not only being aware of and sensitive to cultural differences, but also the possibility of receiving a guest with disabilities. Our host lists always include whether a family can host members with disabilities or not. But have you ever wondered how to make your home accessible to disabled guests? Or, perhaps how to prepare for your golden years in your own home?

Servas host, Deborah Pierce, explores this topic in her recently published book, The Accessible Home. She has been an architect for over three decades and is a leader in Universal Design. Take a moment to learn more about her book and making your home more accessible.
